Charlie Petosa, Senior Partner

Charlie is the cofounder of Navigator Business Solutions, joining forces in 2015 with the talented business consultant and long time business associate John McEwing from Unchained Business Solutions.

Charlie has a long history of “guiding growth” ranging from single location businesses to large chains. In addition to his work with Navigator, he is currently helping to guide one of the fastest growing companies in Washington State.

Previously Charlie worked as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Ocean Marine Yacht Center, Chief Operating Officer for Northrop and Johnson Yachts-Ships, and was a board member and marketing chair for the United States Superyacht Association. Charlie also had a 20 year career with West Marine Products, Inc. where he served as a Vice President from 2001 to 2007. In 2008, after consulting with West Marine on an expansion strategy into the large yacht segment of the marine industry, Charlie returned to West Marine to spearhead West Marine Megayacht Supply.

Charlie lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He, his wife and two children enjoy boating on the Chesapeake Bay and exploring the country in their RV. Charlie agrees with The Weather Channel… “It’s Amazing Out There!”.

john

John McEwing, Senior Partner

John McEwig is the cofounder of Navigator Business Solutions. John established Unchained Business Solutions in 2014 when he realized that many small businesses where continuing to struggle in the post “great recession” period. In 2015 John joined forces with the talented business consultant Charlie Petosa to form Navigator Business Solutions.

John’s vision was simple enough. Business owners needed a new set of eyes to come into their business to assess the situation, develop an action plan that maximizes current resources, and then guide clients through the execution of the plan.

John’s unique ability to ascertain challenges, coach change, manage logistics that, in short order, get agreed upon results. This unique talent comes from working as an Executive Vice President in the retail world with companies like; The Gap, West Marine, Cycle Gear, LaserPerformance and Grease Lightening.

John has taken the time to give back to his Rhode Island community by serving on his towns Coastal Management, Planning and Resource board for ten years and participating in the states Meals on Wheels program.

John splits his time between his house in Rhode Island and his log cabin in Northeast Pennsylvania with his wife, two cats and his Dutch Shepherd. This dual residencies allows John and his family to enjoy an active lifestyle of; boating, fishing, hunting, hiking and other outdoor pursuits.

Rick Gauvin, Vice President Legal Affairs & Human Resources

Rick Gauvin is the VP Legal Affairs and Human Resources for Navigator Business Solutions. Rick’s corporate paralegal career included opportunities with international law firms such as Kirkland & Ellis and Ropes & Gray (Corporate Paralegal Manager overseeing and developing 30 legal professionals worldwide). Most recently Rick was the VP Legal Affairs for Garda, LLC (LaserPerformance) and VP Human Resources and Professional Development at People, Inc.

Rick is skilled to assist and partner with counsel in such areas as: commercial and residential real estate including conveyance and finance documentation, leasing, zoning, environmental and running closing tables for complex transactions; mergers and acquisitions; contract management; all facets of corporate governance; litigation including discovery; intellectual property; as well as labor matters including benefits administration, workers compensation programs, policy creation and enforcement, self-insured unemployment programs as well as the development of professional development and accountability programs including annual evaluation programs.

Rick is also well known for giving back to his community since creating after school programs that taught baseball and life skills to at risk youth in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin with teammates from Marquette University Baseball Team and members of the Milwaukee Brewers. Upon his return to New England Rick became a member and ultimately the President of the Board of Directors for People, Inc. of Fall River, Massachusetts. His latest efforts include involvement with the Bristol County Lodge #1860 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks and the Fourth of July Committee in Bristol, Rhode Island; The Fourth of July Committee is responsible for the Annual Fourth of July Celebration in Bristol, established in 1785 and is the oldest continuous celebration of its kind in the United States.

Rick and his Labrador Retriever divide time in Rhode Island by working on their 1890’s Victorian home and Vermont where Rick is a member of the Killington Snow Sports School and Professional Ski Instructors of America.

Dan has been working in various aspect of the print and design business for over 20 years. He specializes in turning design and print puzzles into cohesive and effective communication pieces. One of his favorite aspects is logo creation, the one element that can make a brand instantly recognizable.
